Working Holiday Visas and Agricultural Visas
As many of you may have already seen, Australia and the UK have announced an in principle trade agreement.
The impact on Australian migration is that UK citizens will be able to apply for working holiday visas up until the age of 35 years. It also allows for up to three years of working holiday visas without the need to undertake regional work.
As a result of this, the Department of Home Affairs is also introducing a specific agricultural visa to compensate for the loss of farm workers which will come from the amendments to the UK program.
No timelines have been released for the formal arrangements to be put in place. We will be sure to update you when the amendments to the program are made.
